PAST VILLAGE SHOWS
Saturday 1st September 2012
Another great Show !
Saturday 3rd September 2011
Thank you for your support - a record turnout!
Saturday 4th September 2010
The weather was kind. The crowd was huge - with record takings at the gate.
Bruce
the Llama, from Kidsrome, led the parade of classic cars, morris men
and villagers from Outwood Mill to Lloyd Hall where the Show was
officially opened by Edwina Currie.
Lingfield
Silver Band played throughout the afternoon; the Punch & Judy man
kept children amused; a dance school troupe entertained spectators on
the MUGA; the East Surrey Morris Men danced their set and Reigate Fire
Brigade arrived to show off their new fire engine.
Many diverse stallholders from Outwood and elsewhere were present to proffer their wares and/or promote their worthy causes.
The
Bar's beer was all drunk and the BBQ's burgers and bangers were all
eaten. The Pimms bar served many happy customers and the WI made and
served teas for hundreds.
Saturday 30th August 2008
The theme of the 2008 Show Parade was "Transport Through the Ages". The parade was led by East Surrey Morris Men with around 30 vintage and classic cars and motorcycles. Thanks to all those who took part, with special thanks to Sandra Clark, Parade Co-ordinator.
Paul Daniels and East Surrey's MP, Peter Ainsworth, travelled to the Show in Paul's 1936
Austin 7.
After opening the Show Peter Ainsworth toured the many stalls and attractions and visited the Outwood Horticultural Society's Annual Show in the Lloyd Hall. There were many local stalls including Wellie Throwing, Coconut Shy and Guess the Weight of the Pigs.
Other attractions included a Punch & Judy; more dancing by the East Surrey Morris Men (with guest appearance by a member of Reigate Fire Brigade who had brought their fire engine to the Show); a demonstration by East Surrey Search & Recovery and music from the Lingfield Silver Band. There were even more villagers and visitors than usual at the Show this year and we hope to have raised over £3,000 for local good causes.
Thanks to all the committee for their hard work in preparing for the Show and to all those in the village who helped on the day or in some other way. Without their help and the support of advertisers and sponsors Outwood would not have a Village Show.
