Welcome to our slot!

The Women's Institute was created in 1915 and exists to educate women, expand their horizons, develop and pass on important skills and enable them to provide an effective role within the community. It is the largest women’s organisation in the UK and we pride ourselves on being a trusted place, for women of all generations, to share experiences and learn from each other.

WI membership offers the opportunity to meet women in your local area in-person and virtually, to make friends and make a difference in your community. We campaign nationally on a wide range of issues and provide life-long learning and self-development opportunities for women in England and Wales.

Outwood WI was formed in 1921 and we are a friendly, group of like-minded women, who enjoy the ideals of the WI of truth, justice, tolerance and fellowship. We have members from Outwood and the surrounding area. Our meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month at 2.30pm in the Lloyd Hall, Brickfield Road, Outwood RH1 5QX. We have a wide variety of speakers each year so please look at our 2026 calendar. There is always a welcome cup of tea, often with homemade cake to round off the afternoon.

As well as our regular monthly meetings, we also have an active mahjong group, rummikub club, opera club and lunch club.
