MINUTES of the meeting of OUTWOOD PARISH COUNCIL held on 3RD  FEBRUARY 2026 in the Lloyd Hall, Brickfield road, Outwood at 7.30pm.

Public questions/ comments:

An update was provided by Jim Broadbent on the proposed extension to the Church graveyard. Further information has been provided to the Open Spaces Society regarding their objection to the land swap.

  1. The Minutes of the meetings held on 6th January 2026 had been circulated in advance and were proposed for approval by Cllr. Devlin, seconded by Cllr. McIntosh and signed as a true record.

Community Matters

  1. A member of the public had raised concern about driving on the verge on Rookery Hill.  Cllr Devlin will log the issue on FixMyStreet.com
  2. A member of the public had been in contact to note that advertising boards for The Castle pub were still in place on the corner of Millers Lane/Rookery Hill, despite the pub being closed.  Cllr McIntosh will collect the boards and return them to the grounds of The Castle.

Airports

A consultation is underway until 28th April 2026 on the options for adjusting Route 4.   The preferred route is Option D which will track closest to Outwood.  This route is preferred because it will have an impact on the fewest people.  Cllr McIntosh will attend the Noise Management Board on 6th February, and a consultation event on 16th March.  Cllr McIntosh will also reply to the consultation on behalf of the Parish Council.  The consultation will be raised as an item at the Annual Village Meeting on 20th April.
